The EL-WAX is a 100% polyethylene glycol capillary column with a bonded and crosslinked high polarity phase. It is a direct equivalent to HP-INNOWAX, DB-WAX, STABILWAX, Rtx-WAX, and BP20 phases, making it a reliable replacement for methods developed on those columns. The high polarity phase makes it particularly well suited to the separation of alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, and aromatic isomers.

Applications

The EL-WAX is suited to GC applications where high polarity phase chemistry is required. In alcohol and brewing analysis, it is used for ethyl carbamate testing in fermented beverages and nitrosamine testing including NDMA in malt, where both regulatory and quality requirements apply. In pharmaceutical analysis, it is used for nitrosamine impurity testing to FDA and EMA regulatory requirements. In food analysis, it performs well for nitrosamine testing in processed and fermented food products, as well as flavour and aroma compound analysis involving alcohols, aldehydes, and ketones.
